Come and sign in early! In addition to grabbing a great seat, you’ll be able to get hands-on and have a listen to Qu, SQ and Avantis mixers from Allen & Heath.

Session 1: "Sound check"


Covering everything from console layout, to live demo’s of mic placement, to gain structure, this session will lay the often overlooked, yet crucial foundations of what it takes to build a great mix from sound source to speakers.

Break

We will take a short break and take some time to network with peers and fellow technicians. Light refreshments available.

Session 2: "Let's mix"


Starting with an overview of the spectrum of sound, this session will build on the foundations of Session 1 and get into discussions of SPL levels, EQ, and Compression all the way through to live mix demos utilizing all the concepts discussed.

Don Klassen

Don Klassen has been a valued member of the Horizon Solutions team for more than 35 years, bringing a wealth of experience across all aspects of our services for church clients, from system design and tuning to training and operations. He has mixed numerous concerts, church services, and events. Don is passionate about collaborating with volunteers and church leaders to help them excel every weekend.


Paul Vroom

Paul Vroom returned to Horizon in 2021, becoming a key member of our systems commissioning and design team. He also offers training to clients in the diverse markets that Horizon serves. Paul frequently travels throughout North America as a front of house engineer for live performances, where he skillfully adapts to various systems and set changes on a daily basis.

Whether you're a beginner or experienced audio mixer, working in a church, school, theatre, or music venue, you'll learn how to improve your mixes and overcome common sound challenges to achieve the best presentation for your audience or congregation.
